MELBOURNE, Australia - 11 October, 2006 - Haliplex Pty Ltd, world leading developer of edge access Micro Multi-Service Provisioning Platform solutions (Micro-MSPP), has today announced a cooperation with Nokia Networks Broadband Systems, Nokia Corporation.

Haliplex was chosen by Nokia for its demonstrated expertise in the design and engineering of optical communications equipment. The collaboration will see Haliplex technologies incorporated into Nokia Networks access product and solution lines.

"Haliplex has achieved stature in the edge access market space through a trusted network of technology affiliates, OEM partners, resellers, and distributors," explains Haliplex CEO, David Drew.

"Admitting Nokia to this network is a privilege and a validation. As our current products reach their maturity, and new development programs are initiated, this collaboration with Nokia presents an opportunity to explore new markets, drive cutting edge innovation, and lend worldwide credibility to our world leading technology."

Formed in 1999, Haliplex has furthered its reputation for quality and innovation through key partnerships with such industry protagonists as Bayly Communications, Turin Networks and Coastcom.

According to Haliplex VP Sales, Michael Baccala, announcement of the Haliplex HPX-800 earlier this year marked the beginning of an important phase in our product offering.

"Haliplex can now boast the most flexible, modular and effectively managed MSPP series on the market. Our platforms are robust, conforming to the strictest international quality and environmental standards (including RoHS), and responding to the industry requirements of wireline and wireless carriers, as well as public service utilities and enterprise environments. Along with our tightly coupled graphical user interface, HPXView, these edge access solutions are a perfect fit for any network." Baccala said.

Grabbing Nokia's attention with this technology has been the greatest testament to Haliplex's progress." Baccala said.

The current generation of products includes the HPX-1600, a modular platform with support for discrete, hot-swappable interface modules, the HPX-800, an expandable 1RU fixed function Gigabit Ethernet & STM-4 chassis, and the widely acclaimed element management software, HPXView.

"Haliplex is experiencing great momentum," said CEO David Drew.

"We have an impressive product range, a quality conforming company and an enviable global distribution network. It is with great pleasure and excitement we look to our future with Nokia Networks Broadband Systems."
