MELBOURNE, Australia - 07 December, 2009 - Michael Baccala appointed as Chief Executive
Officer of Haliplex Pty Ltd, a leading developer of Communications Products and Solutions
for Energy, Transportation, and Government.
Established in 1999, Haliplex builds optical multiplexers that support advanced
environmental standards, such as RoHS and WEEE. These products are also designed to
bridge legacy and contemporary communication protocols. Haliplex's installed-base
includes many of the world's most progressive rail and power companies, as well as
mission-critical government applications.
Mr. Baccala has a long history of corporate management, and environmental awareness.
His background includes key roles in medical research, and digital communications.
In addition to numerous University and Government positions, Michael has contributed
to the success of Ascend Communications, and Lucent Technologies.

ABOUT MICHAEL BACCALA
Michael began his engineering career in the seventies, followed by a migration to
veterinary medicine. In the nineties, he joined Ascend Communications (purchased by Lucent
Technologies). At Ascend, and a number of subsequent companies, he managed development of
mission-critical systems and high-profile projects. Michael has high-level relationships
with many of the world's major telecom- and energy providers, in addition to Silicon
