Building on the success of the well-established Haliplex HPX-300 series, the HPX-1600-IA represents a series of significant enhancements designed to meet or exceed even the most demanding carrier or private fibre network customer premise conditions.
Featuring a voice and data multiplexer that combines digital access cross connection, channel bank, and transmission functionality, the HPX-1600-IA offers powerful grooming and cross connect capabilities across fibre, E1/T1, Ethernet, serial data, and voice services in a compact, 1RU form factor. Supporting combinations of up to 16 hot-swappable data, Ethernet, and voice Interface Modules and driven by an easy-to-use visual element management program, the HPX-1600-IA delivers extensive services at an extremely low cost per circuit price and is ideally suited for the crowded premises and hostile conditions common to most private fibre networks and service provider environments.
Specific features of the HPX-1600-IA include: Optimized environmental specifications to allow for functionality in high ambient temperature environments. IP management channels which run over PPP links, and can be user-configured to operate in-band – without sacrificing user bandwidth – over E1/T1, E3/T3, fibre optic or electrical STM-1 interface modules, and the console Ethernet interface. The redesigned integrated Digital Access Cross Connect Switch (DACCS) allows for extremely flexible and granular traffic grooming for cost-effective utilization of fractional E1/T1 circuits over either optical or copper access.
Haliplex’s selection of Vietnam as the location to unveil the new unit was propelled by strong local demand for these solutions among operators of both public and private fibre networks, including an existing customer base as well as local support from partner and participant on the Haliplex Comnet stand, ITD Corp.
