MELBOURNE, Australia - 26 March, 2007 - Melbourne high tech communications company Haliplex, continues to grow its international reputation after a hugely successful exhibit at the world's biggest technology fair, CeBIT in Hannover, Germany.
Haliplex, who designs and manufactures a suite of Multi Service Provisioning Platforms for the transmission of data, voice and video across composite communications networks, has blitzed the competition with the first public exhibition of its complete product family at CeBIT, having welcomed the HPX 800 to large scale manufacture earlier this year. Remarkably, these laptop sized 'all-in-one' devices do the same job as a full complement of competitor products inhabiting up to two meters of network rack space.
Haliplex participated in CeBIT Hannover 2007 as part of a technology trade mission lead by Australian State and Federal Government and aimed at presenting the nation's finest technologies to a worldwide audience. The Haliplex stand featured as part of the Australian Pavilion, and welcomed the praise of such dignitaries as the Hon Robert Schwarten, Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Mr Angus Robinson, CEO of the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (AEEMA), and Mr David Skellern, CEO of National ICT Australia (NICTA).
Haliplex Product Line Director, Matthew Tutty, who returned from CeBIT today, said that the company's world leading MSPPs received overwhelming attention from network operators and competitors alike.
"It was with great pride that Haliplex participated in this event as one of Australia's preeminent ICT firms. The overwhelming attention that the Haliplex product line received at CeBIT is aligned with the momentum the company is experiencing right now," he said.
"I am continually asked how a small start-up company based in Melbourne Australia has been so successful in grabbing the attention of the North American market, and now Europe. The answer is that innovation is prized above all else, and we are nothing if not innovative.
"There seems to be two main contributing factors to the development of Haliplex's international profile: a validating partnership with Nokia Networks Broadband Systems on the cusp of the Nokia Siemens merger, and the emergence of a distinct 'edge access' market as a result of the IP Ethernet explosion.
"Haliplex products are positioned to usher in the next generation of IP technologies without ignoring the endemic legacies of 'real' networks. Our support of the SONET/SDH and PDH protocols has made our products a perfect fit in government, military, enterprise, wireless, campus, carrier and utility markets, acceding to all major international ICT standards - a far cry from the myopic carrier solutions of some players.
"Haliplex produces some of the world's most sophisticated network devices, ready to traverse a hybrid optical, wire cable and wireless network. The product offering is complemented with industry acclaimed graphical software and economical modular and fixed function solutions suited to any and all networks.
"The elevated interest in our product offering was certainly tangible at the Haliplex stand over the seven days of CeBIT, despite lower than expected attendance numbers at the technology fair overall." he said.
Not to be downplayed, CeBIT Hanover 2007 still attracted more than 6,000 exhibitors from 77 countries and in excess of 430,000 guests. In the analyst forums the resounding message was 'Ubiquitous Ethernet', with most players opting for solutions-focused strategies where backbone technologies remained an unanswered question.
With support for SONET/SDH and Ethernet, the Haliplex MSPP future proof design philosophy will certainly pay dividends in the near future as CeBIT 2007 analyst predictions come to pass." Tutty said.
