Haliplex selected to participate in High Tech tour of Europe

The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) has today announced that Haliplex has been selected from a field of almost 100 Australian IT&T companies to participate in an 8-day visit to London, Frankfurt and Stockholm from November 5-14, 2001. Austrade Senior Trade Commissioner, High Tech Europe, Alison McGuigan-Lewis said Sun Microsystems, Nextec and Austrade have joined forces to provide this opportunity for 10 emerging Australian ICT companies. "These 10 companies will have the chance to gain first hand knowledge of European high tech industry trends, make connections with senior business and technology figures and companies, gain an understanding of critical market success factors, and attain access to venture capitalists across Europe," she said.

"As much of the industry is turning to Europe we thought it was the ideal time to send 10 of our finest to this growing and powerful market," Ms McGuigan-Lewis said. Carl Jefferys, Vice President of Sales for Haliplex said that he was pleased that Austrade has recognised the potential of Haliplex. “This is a magnificent opportunity for us to present our architecture for an all-optical based, inexpensive Telco backbone that allows operators to market services to new customers without the crushing overheads of traditional access networks”.

“Europe is the next logical step for us after our initial successes in Asia” Mr. Jefferys said.

“In addition, the European market is particularly relevant for our forthcoming SDH/SONET-based, compact Multi Service Provision Platforms or MSPP’s” Haliplex is an Australian designer and manufacturer of SDH/SONET- based Optical Access equipment, Channel Banks and Optical Multiplexers for Telecommunications Carriers
